"ABAD" beneficiary: Soraya Rzayeva | Region: Baku | Carpet weaving

According to the carpet-weaver, she has been engaged in carpet-making for nearly 40 years and learned this craft from her family members:
"My siblings were engaged in carpet weaving, so since I opened my eyes to the world, I have been seeing my aunts' carpet weaving. This art was developed in our generation, and I also had a personal interest. I was very upset when I could not get accepted to study at the university, but when I started learning carpet weaving, I realized that I see myself only in this area. Years later, I studied in the field of carpet weaving."
Soraya Rzayeva's small-sized souvenir carpets have a lot of subtle or neutral colors, especially white shades. Speaking of her ABAD appeal, the artist said she would like to prepare students for the future:
"I do not want them to regret that they chose this art. Thanks to the support of ABAD, they can sell their artifacts, earn income, and pass this art on later generations."
