"ABAD" beneficiary: Kamal Aliyev | Region: Ismayilly | Coppersmithing and embossing

According to Kamal Aliyev, he is proud of following his family's footsteps today:
"My father and grandfather were coppersmiths. I have been seeing braziers and coppersmiths around me since I opened my eyes to the world. When I was 14, I started to work in this field and it has already been 10 years that I work as a copper-smith."
Kamal master notes that the copper smithing is a family tradition for Aliyevs: "No one will do unless we continue this art. Everyone in Lahij makes their living by handcrafting and in the future, I will teach my children this craft, so that art will not be forgotten and pass to next generations."
Up to now, Kamal Aliyev has sold his handicrafts on a sesaonal basis:
"I emboss various patterns on copper tableware, revive ancient and national crafts. Earlier, we used to offer our products to the guests who visit Lahij mainly in summer."
He appealed to ABAD with his desire of arranging sells not only in a seasonal basis, but throughout the year and to expand his family business.
"Previously, we used to prepare larger items. Though they welcomed by visitors, it was less purchased, especially foreign visitors could not take those souvenirs away because of their heavy weight. "ABAD" team consulted us about making smaller and portable handicrafts and subsequently it drove measureable results. Thanks to their proper and sophisticated approach to marketing strategy, now our sales are increased significantly"- he remarks.
To note that Kamal’s handicrafts are available at all “ABAD” stores.
