Ceramics at their most basic is simply a process of mixing water with earthen powders and clay, shaping it and baking it at high temperatures. But it is one of the world’s oldest crafts, which over millennia has been perfected to high art. Porcelain has had an enormous influence on cultural traditions around the world and Azerbaijan is no exception.

Ceramics was a profession of choice for Humay when she was admitted to the Academy of Arts. This is where Humay met her master Mir Teymur Mammadov:  “Meeting Mir Teymur Mammadov was one of the crucial events in my life.  He changed my philosophical views on art. I learnt that there are no frames in art. Now, I  can convey my feelings to my works”

Humay creates statues, decorative compositions under the supervision of Mr Mammadov: “I prefer to decorate my products with ornaments. Their symmetry corresponds to my inner harmony. I want the art of ceramics to develop in Azerbaijan. I believe that ABAD's contribution to it will be high and I also will contribute to the development of this art in my turn. "

Humay says that before ABAD she thought a lot about ways to promote her products and tried to find a way out: "My working process is already difficult, I work until my eyes dry out and thinking about selling is a hassle for me. Thanks to ABAD, now I am freed off this problem and nothing prevents the spiritual comfort I get from my art. ”

It should be noted that Humay’s handicrafts are available at ABAD Ethno-boutiques.
