"ABAD" beneficiary: Orkhan Verdiyev | Region: Baku | Wood carving

Residing in Baku, Orkhan Verdiyev is one of our “ABAD” beneficiaries engaged in wood carving. The artisan inherited his proclivity toward this field from his painter grandparents.

"Woodworking is almost our family business. We have a small workshop where I prepare handicrafts together with my parents. We decorate our crafts with national ornaments. "

According to Orkhan, before joining "ABAD" the family offered their handmade souvenirs to shops one by one, and this, of course, was disturbing:

"Later, a close friend told us about “ABAD” and he said that this organization supports families like us. We liked the idea and applied. We are glad that our application got accepted and now we participate in this project. "

Sharing his future plans with us, Orkhan intends to expand his work, to reach out a larger audience, and promote our culture by his souvenirs as well:
