Sabira Garayeva resides in Khirdalan city.

She had been teaching in kindergarten for 22 years. Even during the Soviets, when Soviet authorities were imposing their policy on people to forget the cultural heritage of Azerbaijan, Sabira Khanum was holding all the events in the national spirit.

"I was preparing all the national costumes of children by my hands, including headgear, dresses, and all decorative items, especially during the Nowruz Holiday. After we gained independence as a country, I started to make patchwork, traditional garments, arakchins (skull-cap) and etc. in order to promulgate our culture in the world”- she remarks.

Sabira participates in many art exhibitions, as well as organizes exhibitions in her workshop and she notes that her sales reached to a higher level as she started to cooperate with ABAD.

Her vivid handicrafts are available at all ABAD ethno-boutiques.
