"ABAD" beneficiary: Sadiyya Eldarova | Region: Baku | Leather items
Sadiyya Eldarova works in the field of decorative and applied folk arts. She graduated from the Design Faculty of Azerbaijan State University of Economics.
“Previously, this faculty was known as ‘Artistic Design of Textile and Sewing Products.’ After graduating, I worked in my father’s workshop and later taught for two years at the Art Technical College. After starting a family, I paused my professional activities. I have three children. However, for the past five years, I have been engaged in craftsmanship at home during my free time. To make productive use of my leisure hours, I began exploring new areas. I have a strong passion for embossing on leather and also work on decorative treatments of glass and various vessels,” she shares.
Having had a special interest in carpet patterns since childhood, Ms. Eldarova currently produces embroidered wallets and small bags with traditional motifs for ABAD. She is also working on jackets and araxchins (traditional short jackets) adorned with national ornaments.
It should be noted that Sadiyya Eldarova’s handmade works are available at ABAD ethno-boutiques.
