"ABAD" beneficiary: Mahira Abdullayeva | Region: Baku | Artistic dolls






Trying out oneself in different fields of job, developing numerous set of skills, Ms. Mahira Abdullayeva set up her business in decorative-applied folk art.
She is is also the author of handmade fabric dolls that grab the attention of young visitors at the ABAD ethno-boutiques. Speaking about her handiwork, she prepares dolls in national costumes, as well as dolls that are represent main fictional characters of a literary work both from national and world narratives.
Having been inclined to the arts since her early childhood, she remarks:
“Throughout my lifetime I have dedicated myself to sew, weave and prepare ikebanas which is the art of flower arrangement. I was engaged in the preparation of flower and candy bouquets during the first stages of my business. When my grandchildren were born, I started to make comic dolls for them. As these dolls welcomed by adults, I decided to sell them.”
