"ABAD" beneficiary: Arzu Mammadov | Region: Baku | Painting
Arzu Mammadov, born in 1970 in the Gedebey district of Azerbaijan, graduated from the Azim Azimzade Art School and later from the Painting Faculty of the University of Arts.
“I am an artist; one could say I was born an artist,” Mammadov states. His first exhibition, featuring his artwork, was held at the Pioneers’ House during his school years. “At that time, AzTV, Azerbaijan’s sole television channel, frequently broadcast art competitions, and as a sixth-grade student, I participated in them, securing various rankings and receiving numerous awards,” he recalls.
Mammadov credits the development of his artistry to the guidance of People’s Artists Nadir Gasimov and Mikayil Abdullayev. “After completing my education, I worked for many years as a trainer-artist at the Culture House of an oil company, and later as a teacher at the Tofiq Ismailov Creativity Center,” he shares.
Currently, Arzu Mammadov is an “ABAD” artisan. His handmade works, created in various themes and techniques, are available for purchase at “ABAD” ethno-boutiques. “My oil paintings have gained significant popularity among both foreign tourists and the local population,” he notes. “Additionally, my works in ceramics, graphics, and painting are also offered for sale.”
