"ABAD" beneficiary: Nazar Aliyev | Region: Ismayilly | Coppersmithing and embossing

He continually investigates ancient handiwork, identifies national ornaments and uses these embellishments on his handicrafts.
These crafts enjoy great interest of local and foreigner visitors of Lahij settlement.
However, seasonality of tourism in Lahij has prevented handcrafting to be a stable source of income.
In order to expand his activities in crafting field and make year-round money, he applied to ABAD.
“In Lahij almost everyone has crafting abilities”, he remarks,
"Working together with my father and unkle, I was taught coppersmithing at the age of six at our private workshop. I have experience in many craftsmanship fields and even wove carpets through guidance of my mother."
It should be noted that the artisan’s handiwork have been exhibited in many exhibitions so far and met with great sympathy of guests.
He has successfully represented Azerbaijani culture in many countries.
One of his acknowledged masterpieces is a copper pomegranate, which was exhibited at the pomegranate festival in Vienna, Austria.
Nazar Aliyev's handicrafts are available at all the ABAD stores.
