"ABAD" beneficiary: Vusal Aliyev | Region: Gadabay | Wood carving

Vusal Aliyev, a resident of Gadabay district, has been engaged in the art of woodcarving for the past three years. He is currently receiving training at the Vocational Rehabilitation Center for Youth with Disabilities, operated by the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Population of the Republic of Azerbaijan — where he also first discovered his passion for woodcarving.
Although new to the craft, Vusal quickly achieved remarkable results, demonstrating both talent and dedication. He specializes in crafting miniature souvenir versions of traditional Azerbaijani musical instruments such as the tar, kamancha, and saz.
“When I create, I find a sense of inner peace,” – he shares, reflecting on the personal value of artistic expression.
Vusal has participated in numerous exhibitions across the country, gaining recognition for his unique works.
His primary goal in joining the ABAD initiative was to expand the market for his handcrafted items and introduce them to a wider audience. Today, his creations are proudly presented and sold at ABAD Artisan Centers.
