"ABAD" beneficiary: Eduard Shamaryaev | Region: Baku | Goldsmithing

One of the main craft fields supported within the framework of
the “ABAD” initiative is jewelry making. Eduard Shamaryaev, a resident of Baku,
is among the artisans who have received support from ABAD in the field of
jewelry craftsmanship.
Although he grew up in a family of lawyers, Eduard always showed
a strong interest in the arts. From a young age, he was drawn to various forms
of craftsmanship such as woodcarving and painting, mastering them with success.
However, his true passion lay in the art of jewelry making. Over the course of
three years, he acquired both theoretical and practical knowledge of the craft.
Due to his talent and dedication, Eduard stood out among his peers and, after
graduating from college, was immediately offered a position to teach at the
very institution where he studied.
Today, Eduard works in his own workshop, where he creates
exquisite jewellry pieces alongside his students. These works reflect not only
the traditional national ornaments that have been preserved in Azerbaijani
culture for centuries, but also elements of modern global jewelry design.
Eduard Shamaryaev’s handcrafted pieces have been showcased at
prestigious exhibitions in numerous countries. By joining ABAD, he aims to
further expand his artistic activities. As he notes, “Today, I deeply
appreciate the value and recognition that ABAD and other state institutions
give to craftsmanship. It truly inspires us artisans to continue our work with
even more motivation and productivity.”
His jewellery creations are currently presented at various ABAD
Handicrafts Centers.
