"ABAD" beneficiary: İlqar İsmayılov | Region: Baku | Wood carving
Ilgar Ismayilov, a Baku resident and ABAD-supported artisan, specializes in wood carving, continuing a family tradition passed down from his father. Raised in an artistic household, Ilgar has been crafting intricate wooden pieces for over 25 years. He began exploring wood carving during his middle school years, and his primary goal has been to establish a market for his creations.
Focusing on incorporating traditional Azerbaijani ornamental patterns into his national souvenirs, Ilgar previously offered his works solely as gifts. He explains:
“My aim in joining ABAD was to organize the sale of my handcrafted works. With ABAD’s support in addressing sales challenges, I can now focus more on creativity and produce the beautiful pieces I’ve always envisioned.”
In addition to facilitating sales, ABAD provides Ilgar with design support for his souvenirs, enhancing their quality and appeal. His finely crafted wooden works are now available for purchase at ABAD craftsmanship centers.
