The artisan is a resident of Baku and graduated from Azerbaijan State Academy of Fine Arts named after Azim Azimzade.
She says that her studies encompass several professions in itself:
"They include many areas such as painting, graphics, and decor. Therefore, in accordance with my specialty, I make handicrafts, as well as paintings."
Tahira, who is engaged in decorative-applied folk art for 15 years now, notes that her first exhibition took place when she was studying at the secondary school:
"Soon after that day, my teacher encouraged me to improve myself in this field. In the following years, I participated in many exhibitions, attended various associations. My goal was to become a professional in the field that I'm doing with great enthusiasm."
Having learnt about ABAD Public Legal Entity's support to artisan families, she decides to apply to a legal entity.
The artisan makes various handicrafts in her personal studio, such as the vitrage stained glass, woven items, and paintings.
"I joined the ABAD to receive the necessary support in the area that I'm working on, set up and expand my family business. I want to specialize in decorative-applied folk art and see a constant demand on my works. Certainly, the given value will inspire me to work even harder and make new products." - She remarks.
Tahira adorns her artifacts with the portrayals of “Buta” (Buta is a type of decorative patterns looks alike to almond or flower bud) ornaments and Azerbaijan landscapes and they are available in all ABAD exhibition and sales centers.
