Gulchohra Dadashova

Gulchohra Dadashova, a resident of Baku and one of the artisans supported by ABAD (Support to Family Business), is professionally engaged in the art of painting. Born in Ganja, she graduated from the Azerbaijan University of Architecture and Construction and later specialized in fine arts in Moscow.

“I’ve always enjoyed painting decorative patterns on everyday objects using special paints, giving them a new artistic identity,” she shares. “For many years, this wasn’t a source of income for me—it was simply a way to express my imagination. That’s why I used to look for other jobs.”

Now approaching the age of 50, Ms. Dadashova states that the establishment of ABAD became a turning point in her life:

“Thanks to ABAD, I no longer need to search for employment. I now earn a living through my own skills and efforts, while ABAD takes care of the rest. I’m genuinely happy with both my work and my lifestyle.”

In addition to the professional support she receives, Gulchohra Dadashova highly values the sense of community she has found among fellow ABAD artisans. She views ABAD not only as a platform for business development but also as a network of like-minded, creative individuals.

“This new environment has inspired me to develop original products. In the near future, I plan to launch a unique line of handmade souvenirs, which will further expand the scope of my creative work.”

Ms. Dadashova also enjoys visiting ABAD’s exhibition and sales centers:

“I feel immense pride when I see how interested tourists are in our national souvenirs. I truly believe that very soon, the world will be speaking about the craftsmanship of Azerbaijani artisans.”
