"ABAD" beneficiary: Saimat Kaibkhanova | Region: Baku | Decorative-applied art

Saimat Kaibkhanova, born in 1965 in Baku, grew up surrounded by the
magic of needle, thread, fabric, and colours. Her childhood was spent watching
the patterns woven into carpets by her grandmother. She was fascinated by this
art and always longed to share its beauty with a wider audience.
Despite studying at the Faculty of Mechanics and Mathematics at Baku
State University, Saimat never distanced herself from the art of embroidery.
For her, it was not just a hobby, but a reflection of her inner creative
spirit.
Years of experience and a deep passion for embroidery inspired Saimat
Kaibkhanova to start her own business in this field. She joined forces with her
relative and closest friend, Kamila Guliyeva, and together they began creating
and presenting embroidery and carpet patterns in a new format.
Inspired by carpet art, Saimat began creating silk shawls, bags, fashion
accessories, and home décor featuring embroidered patterns. The carpet patterns
used in these products are derived from Latif Karimov's book “Azerbaijani
Carpet,” which embodies the intricate details and rich history of Azerbaijani
carpet weaving. These patterns hold both historical and cultural significance.
To expand her products' sales channels and reach a broader audience,
Saimat Kaibkhanova registered with "ABAD" and became a member. Currently,
her products are sold at the "ABAD" ethno-boutiques.
