Amina Mammadova

Amina Mammadova, a resident of Baku, has been engaged in the field of visual arts from an early age. Her lifelong passion for drawing led her to pursue formal education in the arts, specializing in graphic design.

Currently, Ms. Mammadova applies her artistic training to the creation of hand-painted decorative items, working primarily on glass surfaces using specialized paints. Her portfolio also includes handcrafted wooden caskets and a variety of culturally themed souvenirs.

Central to her artistic approach is the incorporation of traditional Azerbaijani motifs, with a particular emphasis on national carpet patterns, the symbolic buta, and the pomegranate—icons that hold deep cultural and historical significance within Azerbaijani visual identity.

Initially operating on a commission-based sales model, Ms. Mammadova sought to expand the visibility and commercial reach of her work. In pursuit of this goal, she applied to ABAD (Support to Family Business), a public legal entity that supports the development of family-based entrepreneurship in Azerbaijan.

Following her engagement with ABAD, Ms. Mammadova gained access to institutional support that enabled her to formalize and broaden the scope of her business activities. As a result, her products are now available not only through individual orders but also at the ABAD Crafts Center located in Icherisheher, Baku—a key location for promoting Azerbaijani cultural products to both domestic and international audiences.
