"ABAD" beneficiary: Dilshad Musayeva | Region: Baku | Decorative-applied art
Dilshad Musayeva, supported by ABAD, is a master of decorative-applied arts, specializing in painting on glass and creating embroidery with satin ribbons, employing artistic embroidery techniques. In addition to embroidery, Dilshad crafts various hair and clothing accessories, as well as decorative items, using materials like foamiran and cold porcelain.
A trained teacher, Dilshad credits her passion for decorative arts to two key factors: the richness of the craft itself and ABAD’s support. She explains:
“I’ve been passionate about creating handmade works since childhood. Previously, we faced material shortages, but now the wide variety available fuels our creativity.”
Regarding ABAD, Dilshad describes it as a cornerstone for Azerbaijani artisans:
“ABAD considers every aspect of an artisan’s life, enabling us to focus on creation. I’m an artisan, not a seller. Before, I either gifted my works or displayed them at exhibitions. Now, thanks to ABAD’s support, my passion also generates income.”
Particularly fond of depicting flowers, Dilshad says she never tires of her craft:
“I love creating. Even after a tiring day, if an idea strikes at night, I must bring it to life because I’m devoted to my art. Being part of ABAD fills me with pride, knowing that artisans like us are valued at a state level.”
