"ABAD" beneficiary: Aytan Maharramova | Region: Baku | Knitting
Ayten Maharramova, a
resident of Baku, is engaged in textile craftsmanship, specializing in handmade
garments and accessories.
She received her
initial training in this field at the Vocational Rehabilitation Center located
in Ramana settlement. Since transitioning to independent practice, she has
continuously worked to refine her skills and develop her artistic expression.
Through ABAD, Ms.
Maharramova produces a range of handcrafted items, including clothing, hats,
and scarves, using traditional weaving techniques. Her work has found a
platform for recognition and sales through ABAD’s artisan network.
Reflecting on her
early experiences, she notes that limited public interest once made it
difficult to market her creations. However, her collaboration with ABAD has
significantly improved the visibility and appreciation of her work, providing
both validation and access to curated sales spaces.
Her handcrafted
items are currently available at ABAD Exhibition and Sales Centers.
