Elvira Gasimova was born into a well-cultured family in Kharabaghlar village of Kangarly region of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic. She is a chemist by profession. However, showed a genuine interest in the decorative-applied folk art from her childhood.

"Through the years of studentship, I was enthusiastic about producing decorative artwork from leftovers, gypsum, wool yarn in my spare time. My family was dubious about my hobby as they thought it was a waste of time, yet I did not feel discouraged "- she remarks.

Elvira has been actively involved in the preparation of souvenirs for a year. First, she exhibited her work at Sumgayit State Art Gallery. Later on, she received information about "ABAD" while thinking about sales.

Talking about future plans, Gasimova also says that she intends to improve her handicrafts and work in different spheres of decorative art:

"Handcrafting increases my self-confidence. Having received many tips to improve my crafts, I continued working at ABAD. Seeing the development of my small business, my dear ones started to support me.”
