ABAD artisan Yegana Nuriyeva lives in Baku. She is a graduate of the Medical College No. 1 and the Baku Slavic University.

She has worked on both fields according to her education, but decorative embroidery was her favourite since her childhood which she learned from her grandmother.
"My grandmother was very good at household chores, and the decoration of the garments was her innate talent. I have always wanted to have such handcrafting ability, and by time, my grandmother opened all the secrets to me"- she remarks.
According to Yegana, brooch making is her favourite between crafting fields. She decided to start his own small business with the sale of brooches:
"I started to improve my knowledge. I'm a housewife and have started to learn new techniques from the internet, from magazines. Now I use crystal, various stones, embroidery and colourful threads to make brooches."
According to our ABAD member, she set up her business based on online orders but the result was not that satisfactory.

"It's hard to get the consumer power satisfaction with a single product. Therefore the support that ABAD gives me is irreplaceable. I do not have to contact customers directly, I do not waste my time on it, however, my sales are going very well. My aim is to create new techniques, new designs, and I think that I will accomplish my goal with ABAD."
Please note that Yegana’s crafts are available at all ABAD ethno-boutiques.
