Arif Kazımov, a Baku resident collaborating with ABAD, has pursued his passion for craftsmanship despite his education in a different field. Driven by a desire to promote Azerbaijani culture through an innovative concept, he creates unique map frames inspired by the vibrant diversity of Azerbaijan’s physical and economic geography.

These map frames consist of four components, including dividers for regional boundaries and organic glass. Each district’s designated area is filled with soil collected directly from that region. Kazımov explains:

“Together with my brother and friends, we traveled across all of Azerbaijan’s districts and cities over three days to gather soil from each region. For the territories under occupation, we used a mixture of soils from all regions to represent them on the map, symbolizing their belonging to Azerbaijan and our hope for their future reclamation with their native soil.”

As a pioneering endeavor, Kazımov approached ABAD to facilitate the sale of these distinctive creations. Today, his unique handcrafted map frames are available at ABAD craftsmanship centers.
