At the “ABAD” artisan center located in “Icherisheher” (Old City), a variety of handmade products for children are showcased. The center features small paintings and toys depicting characters from Azerbaijani folk tales, alongside various textile items. Among the artisans contributing to this initiative is Ilhama Aliyeva, who, despite her education in economics, has always been drawn to craftsmanship.

For 20 years, Ilhama Aliyeva has been engaged in textile work, creating diverse souvenirs and small bags for children. She personally designs each of her handmade creations.

Ilhama Aliyeva recalls that some time ago, when she offered her products for sale at a store, they were misrepresented as imported items. To address the challenges of organizing sales and protecting her authorship, she decided to apply to the “ABAD” public legal entity.

Today, every handmade item by Ilhama Aliyeva sold at the “ABAD” artisan center is accompanied by a booklet containing information about her as the creator. She notes that, thanks to “ABAD,” the difficulties related to sales and authorship have been resolved. The artisan expresses her ambition to achieve greater success in her field and her desire to teach this craft to younger generations.
