
With the organization of the Ministry of Economy, the event about “Support to the establishment of cooperation between small entrepreneurs and “ABAD” was held on December 26.
Representatives of the Ministry of Economy, the State Agency for Public Service and Social Innovations under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Association of Women Entrepreneurs, as well as representatives of about 200 small business subjects participated in the event.
Speaking at the event, Mr. Sahib Mammadov, Deputy Minister of Economy, highlighted the role of small and medium-sized entrepreneurship in the development of the non-oil sector, the diversification of the economy and its growth of competitiveness, the expansion of export-oriented production and the provision of employment according to Economic Politics Course of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan. At the event , in accordance with the Presidential Decree approved on December 6, 2016, on Strategic Road Maps through the Ministry of Economy on the development of small and medium entrepreneurship, including the introduction of incentive mechanisms for the development of women entrepreneurship, the creation of Association of Women Entrepreneurs and business incubators for women, the importance of conducting campaigns and exhibitions aimed at improving the skills of small entrepreneurs, and importance of expanding cooperation with ABAD public legal entity brought to audience’s attention.
Mr.Inam Karimov, the Chairman of the State Agency for Public Service and Social Innovations under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, noted that “ABAD” public legal entity, implements projects to support the family businesses operating in decorative-applied folk arts and farming:
“So far, 178 families, private and small entrepreneurship subjects from 17 regions of the country have been supported and this support is rendered continuously and grows day by day.”
Inam Karimov said that the collaboration will be continued with the Ministry of Economy in order to convey handicrafts of small entrepreneurs to more people.
Then, discussions were held on the matters of supporting business projects of small and medium-sized business subjects, and the proposals of entrepreneurs were heard.
Speaking at the event, entrepreneurs emphasized that the holding of such events stimulated the expansion of entrepreneurial activity and thanked the President for created amenities for the development of the private sector.
