
Ceramic masters of
Sheki "ABAD" Ceramics and Applied Arts Centre participated in the
13th International Avanos Applied Ceramics Symposium (13UAUSS2024) held in
Avanos, Nevşehir region of Türkiye with themes of “Ceramic Sculpture / Wall
Ceramics”.
The mentioned
symposium was jointly organized by Nevshehir Hajı Bektash Veli University,
Avanos Ceramic Application and Research Center and Avanos Municipality within
the framework of the events held in the countries that are members of the
European Ceramics Route. It took place from June 24 to July 5, 2024.
The symposium
brought together talented, and diverse artists from Azerbaijan, Türkiye,
Romania, Japan, and the People’s Republic of China. Artists of
"ABAD", Kamran Ibrahimkhalilov, Zaur Ahmadov, and Asim Abbasov
represented Azerbaijan at the symposium. An exciting and creative exchange took
place between masters.
Their presentations
on Sheki City and the development of ceramic art in Azerbaijan were met with
great interest by the symposium participants. The artworks they made during the
event were presented to the balance of the Avanos Ceramic Application and
Research Center where they will permanently be exhibited.
On the last day of
the symposium, the participants got acquainted with the sites of Avanos with historic
importance, pottery workshops, and a city tour of Cappadocia was organized for
them.
At the end, the
participants of the symposium were awarded with certificates.
