An excursion to the "ABAD" Ceramics and Applied Arts Center in Sheki was organized by the Social Services Agency under the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection for the children and family members of martyrs.
The event
aimed to provide meaningful leisure activities for the children and families of
martyrs of the Patriotic War. Around 40 children of heroes from Sheki,
Zagatala, Balakan, Gakh, Oghuz, and Gabala districts, who sacrificed their
lives during the 44-day Patriotic War, participated in the visit.
During
the tour, guests were informed that the center was inaugurated by President
Ilham Aliyev and First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva during their visit to Sheki on
October 29, 2018. The "ABAD" Ceramics and Applied Arts Center focuses
on developing ceramic art. Its mission is to preserve and pass down the
historical ceramic traditions of Sheki and the nation as a whole, while also
promoting the diversity of Azerbaijani clay worldwide.
It was
highlighted that out of the 128 types of clay found globally, 98 are present in
Azerbaijan, underscoring the country's rich resources.
Participants
had the opportunity to closely explore the ceramic works crafted by the centre's
artisans. A hands-on masterclass was also organized, allowing attendees to
create and paint various items using clay.
The visit
left a strong impression on the children of martyrs and their families,
creating lasting memories. The "ABAD" Ceramics and Applied Arts
Center presented gifts to the children.
Following
the excursion, the children of martyrs visited the nearby Sheki Khan's Palace,
further enriching their experience.
