The opening ceremony of the International Ceramics Symposium was held at Sheki "ABAD" Ceramics Center on May 21. 

Elkhan Usubov, Chief Executive Officer of Sheki District, opened the event with his speech. Greeting the guests, he provided information on  the ancient and rich history of Sheki.

Director of ABAD PLE Rufat Elchiyev spoke about the objectives of the event and the work to be done to promote the ceramic traditions of Azerbaijan in the world. He finished his speech by wishing success to the participants of the symposium.

Following this, the curator of the International Symposium on Ceramics "From Nature to History", Mir Teymur Mammadov, declared the symposium open and presented 25 participants from 15 countries to the guests.

The performances of the dance group of Children's Art School in Sheki followed the event. Should be noted that the International Ceramics Symposium "From Nature to History" will last till June 2. Within two weeks of period, ceramists of different nations will create sculptures under the open sky at Sheki Ceramics and applied Art Center.
